Be sure to register today for the Summer Training Program (STP), with new drop-in sessions added. And don’t forget, the new neck guard rule goes into effect on August 1. Read on for all the details!

AVB Hockey is offering multiple post-secondary education scholarships to this year's senior class at AVHS and BHS. The board of directors have approved a scholarship fund and appointed a scholarship committee. The intention is to grant scholarships to as many former players as possible.
Scholarship Eligibility, Requirements and Guidelines
Applicants must be a senior in good standing at Apple Valley High School or Burnsville High School.
Applicants must have been an active member of AVHA, BHC or AVBHA and been a traveling player with sanctioned teams (Eagles, Valkyries, or Firehawks) for at least two seasons. Applicants do not have to be active at the time of application.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2.7 cumulative high school GPA (based on 4.0 scale)
Applicants must submit a transcript stating GPA with his/her application. Transcripts must indicate cumulative grade point average.
Applicants must submit an application form to the scholarship committee by the deadline of May 31, 2024.
The scholarship committee will determine scholarship recipients and amounts awarded.
The award is intended to be used during the traditional academic year (fall through spring), and for academic purposes such as tuition, fees, room, board, and/or books.
Awards will be one time payments made payable to the educational institute. Scholarships are forfeited if not used by March 31 of the following year (for example, 2024 winners must submit for payment by Mar 31, 2025).
Decisions of the AVB Hockey scholarship committee are final.

Here's a quick update on the projected teams for the 2024-25 season. These projections are based on the current HDC evaluations and are subject to change as we finalize rosters and gather more information.
Projected Team Levels:
Squirts: 5 teams: A, B1, B2, C, C
10U: 4 teams: A, B1, B2, B2
Peewees: 3 teams: A, B2, C
12U: 3 teams: B1, B1, B2
Bantams: will officially coop with Eastview at the bantam level. 5 teams: A, B1, B2, B2, C. AVB hosts B1, B2, EV hosts A, B2, C
15s: 0-2 teams (still assessing)
Jr gold: 1-2 teams (still assessing)

We've got some exciting events lined up this summer, so you can start filling those DIBS before the hockey season even begins! Currently, we are signed up for the Party on the Plaza events in Burnsville on June 6, July 11, and August 22 from 5-9 PM. Plus, we’ll have our own party at Westwood on August 10 (complete with a dunk tank!), a float in the Firemuster parade, and more. Our first event is next Thursday, June 6 – DIBS will be posted by the end of the week. Keep an eye out and get ready for some summer fun!
